The de Havilland DH.82 Tiger Moth is a 1930s two-seat, open-cockpit biplane designed by Geoffrey de Havilland and was operated by the Royal Air Force as a primary training aircraft. Its handling characteristics made it an ideal trainer, both challenging and demanding to the student pilot, but once mastered a very enjoyable aircraft to fly. In 1952 it was superseded in RAF service by the de Havilland Chipmunk.

Many nations around the world utilised the Tiger Moth in both military and civil applications – In testimony to its effectiveness and longevity, it still remains in widespread use as a recreational and training aircraft. Many thousands of pilots gained their wings flying the Tiger Moth. What a delight it is that we can still experience the same today.
