When Duty Calls – It’s 1941 and following a combat air patrol over occupied France, ground crew are rearming, refuelling and fixing any snags on a 92 Squadron Spitfire, prior to applying over-night protective covers ready for the next day’s mission.
Without these unsung heroes, many working around the clock, sometimes in atrocious conditions, Pilots and aircraft would remain grounded and unable to fight. Utilising their many skills they made a vital contribution to winning World War Two.
